Securely connect your Trezor hardware wallet to web applications and Trezor Suite
Trezor Bridge™ is the official local helper that enables secure communication between your browser and your Trezor device. It creates a trusted local endpoint so web apps can request addresses, request signatures, and pair with devices while keeping private keys on the hardware.
Download & install
Download Trezor Bridge from the official Trezor website for your OS (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Run the installer and follow on-screen instructions. On some systems you may need to allow the app in system preferences or grant permissions.
After installation, Bridge runs a local secure service that listens for requests from authorized browser origins.
Open your browser and navigate to a recognized web wallet or Trezor Suite; the site will prompt to connect and Bridge will mediate the request.
Security model — what Bridge protects
Bridge limits exposure by ensuring private keys remain on-device; signing happens only after on-device confirmation.
Requests are validated by origin; only authorized web origins should be granted persistent pairing.
Bridge provides a clear, auditable local surface — avoid installing unofficial clones or packages.
Common troubleshooting
If your device is not detected: try a different USB cable/port, ensure Bridge is running, restart your browser, and check OS permission prompts.
On macOS: you may need to allow network access or kernel extensions depending on version — follow the installer prompts carefully.
If pairing fails repeatedly: revoke pairing in Bridge/Trezor Suite and re-pair, or reinstall Bridge.
Developer notes (brief)
Web apps should use the official Trezor Connect/WebUSB/WebHID integrations, verify host origins, and perform minimal local storage of metadata. Require explicit user confirmation for any signing operation and display human-readable transaction details on-device.
